The U.S. immigration system allows individuals some flexibility in changing their status to align with evolving circumstances. For instance, tourists can explore changing to student status, while students may consider switching to tourist status for specific travel or leisure needs. IBP Immigration Law’s experienced attorneys offer comprehensive guidance in navigating these transitions, ensuring individuals are well-informed and equipped with the necessary documentation for a seamless change in non-immigrant status within the United State
It is important that you submit your application to change your non-immigrant status while your current status is valid. You should also be mindful of what you are and are not allowed to do while your change of status is in process.
When you apply to change your status, you must submit all applicable fees and supporting evidence. You will also have to appear for a biometrics interview before USCIS can make a decision on your application.
Once your change of status is approved, USCIS will send you an approval notice with an I-94 record.
